| A Covenant People |
| Seventh Day Baptists are a covenant people. That is "a solemn agreement", entered into by a number of people before God, and is the basic foundation of the local church. It is a carefully worded document which states the responsibilty of members and their purpose for joining together as a congregation. |

| Adopted by the Paint Rock Seventh Day Baptist Church July 7, 1984 |
| We covenant and agree to keep the commands of God and to walk in the faith of Jesus. And further to watch over each other for good and pray for each other too, to the intent that we may abound in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. And also to bear our portion of all necessary burdens and expenses of the church as the Lord blesses our ability so to do. And also to endeavor to keep up meetings for worship on the Sabbath and to attend punctually as far as practicable to all the appointments of the church. And further to endeavor to add to our witness, by the example of our lives and by our readiness to speak of the faith which sustains us, according to the guidance of the Almighty and to the intent that the church may grow. And also to pray for the ability to act in the intrest of the poor and oppressed around us, being ever mindful that faith without works is a dead faith. And these things we will endeavor to do by the help of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
